Make up of the week ♥

Sorry I've been away for a while! With horrible university reports and assignments I just haven't had time to blog. I'm looking forward to posting about some new make up products in the next few days. Hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous sunshine!

Estee Lauder Signature Silky Powder Blush ♥

I love Estee Lauder products. I recently purchased Estee Lauder's Silky Powder Blush in 14 Rose Nuance. The colour is beautiful.
I love the packaging. It looks expensive and sophisticated. I love the gold rim around the outside too...simple but elegant! I think the blue and gold is a signature Estee Lauder product. It's even more beautiful inside.
The range of pinks is just beautiful. The product is definitely silky. So smooth to apply, and sits very easily. The colours blends beautifully, and my cheeks look so natural and rosey. I love that it has a slight shimmer to it. It's not too shimmery however, it just highlights the cheekbones. The complimentary blusher brush is lovely too. It's so soft, and works so well in applying the blusher. It stays put for a good eight hours until I would even think about reapplying, which I think justifies the price of the product.

It retails at £24.00 and Boots are currently offering the free Estee Lauder goodie bag when you purchase     any two Estee Lauder products.

Late Sunday Gossips ♥ #5

♥ I don't have much time for today's post...I have so much work! It's nice to know that in two weeks time, all my uni work will be over with forever! Such a good feeling. I just thought I'd show you some lovely photos of where I went to yesterday- Strictly Cupcakes in Preston. It's so adorable. Pretty much everything is floral and Cath Kidston (heaven), and most of the china is vintage. It was so lovely to just relax and catch up with my friend. Sorry for the photo quality, it was taken on my rubbish Blackberry!

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!

The Neon trend- yay or nay? ♥

Neon seems to be everywhere right now. I can't say it's a trend that I really like in all honesty, but I'd love to know what you think! I tend to wear very neutral, classic colours, and I find wearing too much colour a little scary, especially neon!
What do you think of the trend?

Pantene Pro-V Colour Protect ♥

I have my highlights applied every five weeks, and I will do anything to try and keep my colour looking fresh and bright for that bit longer! I saw this product in Boots, and thought I'd give it a go. I've tried the shampoo and conditioner in the range, and I honestly didn't like the results. It made me hair greasy and dull. Seeming as I'd only be using a small amount of the product in my hair, I thought it was worth a try. The product claims that it seals colour for up to 8 weeks, and I was really hoping this was true!

The product is meant to be used after shampoo and conditioner, but I felt this left my hair feeling really greasy and heavy. When I used the product as just a conditioner, I really liked the result.
It smells gorgeous, and definitely requires just a small blob of the product. I ran the treatment through my hair, and left it on for two minutes as required. My hair was really easy to brush, and once my hair was blow dried, my hair looked silky, smelt lovely, and felt glossy and smooth. I have to say I'm really impressed. In terms of it sealing my colour, I honestly don't think it did. However, I think it's a great product if your hair needs a good conditioner, and I definitely got a lot of compliments about how healthy my hair looked.

The product should only be used once a week, but I found myself using it around twice a week. I didn't think I needed to, I just loved how silky my hair was afterwards.

The product retails at £3.99 (58ml), and is definitely worth every penny!

Weekend Wishlist ♥

It's the weekend, finally! It doesn't mean I'll be resting though... I have a massive assignment to do which I can't wait to get out of the way! I'm sure if you're a student then you'll completely understand, especially if you're in your last year like me! I wish I could go shopping though. I have my eyes on so many things! I'm really tempted by the Benefit They're Real mascara- the reviews have been really good, so I think I may need to buy it!

Are you doing anything nice this weekend?

L'oreal Lumi Magique Base Pure Light Primer ♥

Another post about my love of L'oreals Lumi Magique range.  The Pure Light Primer from their new range is really impressive, and I've already had a few compliments saying how dewy my skin looks. L'oreal say the product can be "used alone or under foundation to enhance radiance, or dab onto cheeks and brow bones as a highlighter". It definitely does enhance radiance too...my skin looks healthy and glowing, without looking like I've used a lot of make up.
The bottle looks sleek and expensive, but it's really light, which although is good for popping in the handbag, it does make it feel a little inexpensive and not very special. The primer is dispensed through a pump, which I found really easy to use. The right amount if product would be dispensed, and I didn't have a problem with too much product coming out of the pump, which I find is quite common with similar products. What I love amount the product is the light shimmer it has, which looks just as lovely if the primer is used on its own or under your foundation. I find that my foundation lasts all day, but I do use powder to keep my make up intact.
The consistency is quite thick, but nice and creamy which makes it easy to blend with your foundation. I personally like to use mine with foundation, which makes my skin look really healthy and glowing. I am a fan of using the product on my brow bone and cheekbones, which make them look really defined. The product retails at £9.99 for 20ml, which although is pricey for drugstore make up, it definitely rivals high end beauty brands, and therefore is worth every penny!

Have you tried the Lumi Magique range from L'oreal?

L'oreal Paris Lumi Magique Highlighting Pen ♥

I am really impressed with L'oreal's new range, the Lumi Magique collection. I've always been a fan of L'oreal, but this new range is just amazing. The quality of the make up definitely rivals high end make up ranges, and the highlighting pen may be just as good, if not better then YSL's touche eclat. The range is definitely affordable, with the highlighting pen retailing at £8.49.
The appearance of the product is definitely really similar to YSL's infamous touche eclat, with it's sleek, shiny look. It's not as heavy though, which makes the product feel inexpensive and not quite as special. The pen is really easy to use, and the concealer dispenses really well. I usually hate using concealer pens as no matter how little you turn, the product always seem to come whooshing out! This doesn't seem to be a problem Lumi Magique, and a little goes a long way. I am so impressed with the quality of the product; the consistency is is quite thick, and definitely hides any redness or imperfections without looking too cakey.
The concealer sits really well on my face, and I found applying the product with the pen first, and using my fingers to dab the product in worked really well. It also lasts all day, which I know a lot of products claim to do, but this really does. However, I do use a little powder on top of the product to make sure it lasts that bit longer. L'oreal says "L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer helps brighten the appearance of eyes. Helps cover any imperfections. Can be used to highlight cheekbones, brow bones and the cupid's bow". I completely agree with this, and I also find myself using the product on my brow bones...definitely a multi purpose product!
Under my eyes were so red/purple this morning that I was really thankful to have this product. A few light dabs, and the red appearance had disappeared and I instantly looked more awake. I couldn't rave about this product anymore...you definitely need to buy it if you are a lover of concealer.
